FINALLY, a shop update!

My contribution to Valentine's Day:

Patchwork Heart Necklace -
Rustic Romance Necklace -

Sass Me Earrings -

I'm going to be honest with you: I am not a heart person. Buuut, I do like drawing these funky asymmetrical hearts an awful lot, and I thought they'd lend well to metal.

The 2 rings posted in my previous blog entry are also listed, along with a sweet little pair of earrings that I love! These may remain in the shop made to order...at least until I run out of the circles I've already made...

Mod Moon Posts
-

And now I'm back to the garage to finish up some custom orders. !

Some very dark pictures.

I overestimated my daylight, so these are darker than I'd like. New photos to be taken this weekend, listing will be postponed until then.

But, yay! New work!

Rawhide Ring, size 7

Carnie Poppy ring, size 9. This one has a very bright orange carnelian, not nearly as dark as the photo lends you to believe.
Asymmetrical Supah Sass Earrings, Cindy Lauper style. One is a post and the other dangles!

Patience is a Virtue.

And truly you are patient if you've been popping in to see if I've done anything new yet...because I know when I read other jewelry blogs, after a few days of no new work...a few DAYS, I get kind of cranky.

"I'm happy to read about your life AS LONG AS there is jewelry porn to be had."

That's my attitude. I can't really help it. I can only hope you are more gracious to me.

3 pieces were completed last night, 2 will have the finishing touches put on tonight. We have a twist on the over-abundant Vday heart (a twist times 3, that is) and 2 very lovely rings that I am so, so very happy about.

I'm happy right now making the things that I would buy. I rarely buy jewelry (mostly because I am poor, mind you), so when I do buy it I struggle with the decision for hours if not days. Were we meant to be? Will I wear it frequently? I don't buy jewelry that can't fit into my wardrobe at least once per week.

So even if I think something is lovely or fantastic or to die for fab, I usually just acknowledge it's awesomesauce and carry on AS MUCH as I would love to buy all of it. I do love all of the jewelry I've made, and it's really fun to play around and try things I wouldn't have before.

But for right now, I like simple. It feels comfortable.

And now I present you - another giveaway from Rosy Revolver! All of her work is stunning, truly. And I can assure you that pendant could quite easily find a way to embellish my outfits at least THRICE per week. Seriously.

Here is the giveaway link. I also encourage you to pop over to her etsy shop to see what other beautiful things she's made!

In closure, I promise you there will be pictures of the 3 finished new pieces either tonight or tomorrow as well as a shop update!

Cheers to 2010!

2009 was actually a pretty big year for me. It's easy to forget how much happened with how busy I am all of the time...I don't really have time to decompress and soak up experiences. But -- just look at this list!

1. Opened Cholula Jewelry on etsy, made 69 sales on the site alone and likely double that outside of etsy.
2. Made tremendous progress on Cholula, including cantering by ourselves! It sounds silly, I know, but keep in mind I haven't really cantered a horse in over 5 years and hers isn't exactly drama-free, yet.
3. Took a road trip to Nebraska with Rex. We also took a mini road trip to the town I used to live in and spent some time surrounded by thousands of windmills.
4. Financial stability!
5. I bought a (new to me) car!
6. I gave a talk at a huge science conference. I was an art major in college.
7. I went to the Bahamas.
8. I went to Venice and Florence and a few little cities in between.
9. Gold rings!
10. GROWTH.

2010 is a lot about uncertainty and a lot about forging ahead.

I want to continue to play and explore with jewelry, while also working towards it perhaps becoming my main job. I intend to look into galleries and other venues to sell on top of etsy.

I want to pull Zeus out of "retirement" to see what we can do. He needs heaps of retraining but it seems silly to let him sit when he loves work, even if he walks with his back end like he has a neurological disorder.

Make it to a rated show with Cholula, and be at solid training level by spring.

Work on ME more. My riding - seat, strength, jumping? Go to warm yoga at least once per week. Use jewelry breaks to exercise. Set aside a bit of time every week to do something not job related - watch a movie, clean, needle felt, knit, etc. Clean more! Throw stuff away! Well, clean more as soon as I get a HEPA mask. My lungs protest heavily when I do so much as vacuum.
